Submissions for Publication
Members are welcome to submit articles to Sabretache. ‘Collector’s Corner’ features items from members’ personal collections and short articles about interesting military items are also welcome. Authors should consult guidelines for authors for the technical requirements of articles and the Editor would be only too pleased to discuss ideas for potential articles.
Articles submitted by new authors will be considered for the Society’s New Writers’ Prize and 2011 saw the announcement and award of the inaugural Sabretache Writers’ Prize. This prize is competitive, will be judged annually and announced at the Federal Council AGM. Details of the Sabretache Writers’ Prize can be obtained from the Editor but conditions and deadlines will be well-advertised throughout the Society with enough lead-up time to fire up the brain, dip into the primary and secondary sources and pick up a pen!
Many of our members are writers and the Editor welcomes details of new releases and review copies.
One of the favourite features in Sabretache is the book review section. The Editor calls upon the expertise of our members to review an eclectic collection of military books received each year from publishing houses and self-publishers. Members interested in being considered for the book review panel should contact the Editor.
Send all material for publication by email to the Editor.

Editorial Statement by Sabretache of the Intent to promote and maintain diverse perspectives and ensure ethical standards.
At Sabretache, we take pride in providing a platform that encourages diverse viewpoints and thought-provoking discussions. Our journal aims to foster a vibrant community where engaging ideas and opinions can flourish. It is important, however, to clarify certain aspects of our editorial policy to ensure transparency and maintain the highest ethical standards.
Firstly, the Military Historical Society of Australia Incorporated (MHSA Inc.) wants to emphasise that the opinions expressed by our authors are their own and do not necessarily reflect those of the editor or Sabretache as a whole. We believe in the power of intellectual discourse and value the freedom to express varying viewpoints, allowing readers to form their own informed opinions.
Our commitment to providing well-researched, accurate, and thought-provoking content remains unwavering. Sabretache welcomes constructive criticism and feedback from our readers, as it helps us to continuously improve and deliver valuable content.
Let us create a space that fosters intellectual growth, encourages respectful dialogue, and celebrates the diversity of thoughts. Thank you for being a part of our community..
