12 point (pt), single spaced.
Single space between full stop and new sentence.
References
Quotations
Quotes are use single quotation marks up to three lines long. If over four lines, quotes are to be indented (1cm in from each margin) and dropped by one point size (eg from 12 to 11pt) and quote marks dropped. Do not use italics.
Footnotes
Footnotes are to be used for all references. Footnotes to be formatted in the following manner (with a full stop at the end):

Books
John Smith, On the Road, Allen & Unwin: Sydney (1970), p. 23.
Journal articles
Joan Smith, ‘The Road is Wider’, Journal of Roads 48 (1977), p. 24.
Websites

Primary sources

Second or later references
Use short titles, but not Latin indicators. Abbreviations are allowed.
Images
Include source reference.
Abbreviations
Do not use full stops in or after abbreviations, currency or units of measurement.
Plurals of abbreviations which have an ‘s’, do not have an apostrophe.
Numbers
Numbers are spelled out up to ten, after then in figures.
Percentages are written ‘per cent’, not %.
Dates
Should always be day month year, eg 21 December 1924.
Months should be spelled out in full.
Years must always include century, eg 1921-1926.
Recommendations
A good article should have an introduction, body and conclusion. These may or may not be labelled as such, depending on the article and author preferences. The introduction should outline the article and provide an overview of what the article is about and why it is important. Introductions should be about 10-15% of the overall word count.
The conclusion should summarise the article and include the important parts of the article.
Subheadings are useful but be careful not to include too many.
